Telemedicine offers a quick and easy way to see a doctor on your computer or phone, and it usually costs less than an in-person visit. Virtual visits for physical and mental health care are available to all Lam employees—whether you’re enrolled in a Lam medical plan or not.

Save time and money with a virtual visit

Virtual visits are a convenient option for nonemergency care, such as:

  • Flu, allergies, a sinus infection, or an earache
  • Dermatology issues, such as a rash, psoriasis, eczema, or acne
  • Mental health care, such as help with anxiety, an eating disorder, or depression
  • New prescriptions or refills

Anthem members

If you have a doctor that you see regularly, reach out to ask if you can schedule a virtual visit.

Or, if you prefer, use Anthem’s Sydney Health app to get virtual care anytime through your mobile device. You can see a Board-certified doctor 24/7 for common health issues and annual wellness visits. Mental health care is available by appointment.

To start, download the Sydney Health app from the App Store or Google Play. Then follow these steps:

  1. Register (if you haven’t already) and log in. Your user name and password for the Sydney Health app and anthem.com/ca are the same.
  2. Select Care, then select Virtual Care.

Medical visits and preventive care

Board-certified doctors are available 24/7, with or without an appointment. During your private and secure video visit, the doctor will assess your condition, provide a treatment plan, and send any prescriptions you need to the pharmacy of your choice.

Virtual visits extend to preventive care, too. You can choose a primary care doctor to see on an ongoing basis to get annual checkups, referrals, acute care, and treatment for chronic conditions—without visiting a medical office. From the Sydney Health app:

  • Select Virtual Care.
  • Select LiveHealth Online.
  • Select Urgent Care (medical visits) or Annual Wellness (preventive care).

What you’ll pay

Your cost depends on your medical plan.

  • Anthem Base PPO: $25 per visit
  • Anthem CDHP with HSA:
    • Medical visit: $55 per visit until you meet your annual deductible, then $11 coinsurance per visit
    • Virtual primary care: $80 per visit until you meet your annual deductible, then $16 coinsurance per visit

Mental health visits

In most cases, you can see a behavioral therapist in four days or less for help with matters such as anxiety, depression, and grief.

Psychiatrists can see patients 18 and older within two weeks to help manage medications, except controlled substances regulated by the government.

From the Sydney Health app, you have two options:

Option 1

  • Select Find Care and Cost.
  • Under Behavioral Health, select a doctor from a list of virtual and in-person providers.

Option 2

  • Select Virtual Care.
  • Select LiveHealth Online.
  • Select Mental Health.
  • To see a licensed behavioral therapist, select Therapy.
  • To see a licensed psychiatrist, select Psychiatry.

What you’ll pay

Your cost depends on your medical plan.

  • Anthem Base PPO: $25
